Keynote Speaker
Sheryl Swoopes was born to be a basketball legend. With a name that rhymes with hoops and a court presence that had fans comparing her to Jordan, it was destiny. Swoopes was the first player signed by the WNBA and became one of the league's most celebrated athletes of all time. A three-time WNBA MVP and four-time WNBA champion with the Houston Comets (1997–2000), Swoopes was known for her versatility and defensive prowess. The world watched her on-court presence and recognized immediately her role in redefining the Dream Team. She made history as the first female basketball player to have a Nike shoe named after her, the "Air Swoopes." Before her professional career, she led Texas Tech University to an NCAA championship in 1993, setting a record for most points scored in a title game. Internationally, Swoopes won three Olympic gold medals and multiple FIBA World Cup titles. Her accolades include induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (2016) and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame (2017). Swoopes legacy extends far beyond the court, inspiring generations of athletes and breaking barriers in sports and society.

Keynote SpeakerDr. Chantel Tremitiere has earned many titles in her life. Professional basketball player. Coach. Entrepreneur. Cancer survivor. Record Holder. Doctor. All of which translate to a single word – Legend. Adopted into a diverse family, Tremitiere grew up in York, Pennsylvania, where her passion for basketball flourished and defied the odds. Excelling at William Penn High School, she earned a scholarship to Auburn University, where she became a standout player, earning NCAA All-Tournament Team honors in 1990. Tremitiere's professional basketball career began in 1997 when she was drafted 18th overall by the Sacramento Monarchs in the WNBA. She played for several teams, including the Utah Starzz and Indiana Fever, before retiring in 2002. But few realized that basketball was just the beginning. Dr. Tremitiere has enjoyed extraordinary success in music, producing the Hip Hop hit "Hoody Hoo" with 4 million copies sold; an actor featured in Disney’s 2002 movie “Double Take”; and as an esteemed educator. After earning her MBA and doctorate from Auburn University, she began teaching at Auburn’s business school, celebrated for her dedication to student success. Additionally, she is an accomplished writer, having authored works that reflect her experiences and insights. Dr. Tremitiere's journey from the basketball court, through entertainment and music, to the classroom exemplifies her commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire others.
